Dear Students of the College of Health Professions

This letter is to inform you that prior to starting an off-campus clinical rotation, internship or fieldwork experience, you may be required by the placement site to undergo a criminal background investigation and or a drug test.  This is not a requirement of Towson University or the College of Health Professions.

The purpose of the potential requirement is to help protect the public. Healthcare facilities today are becoming very cautious in terms of their student policies, not only to protect their patients, but also to protect the hospital.  

The results of the background check will provide you with information relevant to meeting the minimum background screening required by placement sites, internships, fieldwork and or employment.
